Across a career built on range rather than repetition, Nakul Abhyankar has composed original scores for 21 films spanning Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and Tulu cinema — and built an equally distinguished parallel career as a music producer and playback singer, working extensively alongside A. R. Rahman, Anirudh Ravichander, Vidyasagar and G. V. Prakash. A diploma holder in Western classical music and well-versed in Hindustani classical traditions, he moves fluidly between idioms — as comfortable scoring an intimate indie as he is inside a Rahman orchestra — making him one of the more quietly versatile voices working across South Indian film music today.
